This painting commissioned by the Tabley Estate in the 1700s depicts the hall in its prime. Beyond this point what we see here went downhill. The chapel on the other hand wasnt left to rot, instead it was dismantled and reconstructed next to the new hall where it still stands today. That's alot of effort to save yourself a five minute cart ride. I can't help but think that if they kept it here, more care would've been given to the old hall rather than being neglected in the way it has.
