Also known as Delph Lane Bridge, it reconnected Daresbury village to Keckwick on it’s south western side. It is one of only five original brick bridges on the canal in Halton to still support single-lane traffic. Keckwick Hill is an area of land adjacent to the bridge that has been wooded for hundreds of years, now known locally as Daresbury Firs. There were three separate quarries on the hill, two near Keckwick Lane and the other at the western edge at Daresbury Delph. Fine sandstone was quarried here. Some was used for the tower of All Saint’s in daresbury. This would have made the bridge a vital connection to Runcorn for the quarry material and workers. Despite this history and continual use to this day, it does not appear to be listed. GPS Coordinates: 53.338817, -2.643950
