The yarn is pressed, stretched and combined through many circuits of the rollers before it’s ready to be dispersed onto a bobbin. The full bobbin is then moved to the spinning mules where it joins onto the rollers and the threads are attached onto spindles. The water at the mill again powers the wheel on the machine here which feeds the threads as the mule is pulled back and forth by hand, which was an age-old process brought from the 1700’s. This required a lot of knowledge to be brought down through generations just so that the machine could be operated in the correct manner.
