A typical example of a chapel's location being earmarked for what was once a 'modern' revelation - the village phone box. Chapels usually being placed in a spot easily accessible from most places in the area, making them the ideal spot to place a telephone and/or postbox for the community to access. Whilst most of the UK has now lost its vintage 'red' phone boxes, BT have probably not serviced or maintained this one for 40 years due to its remote location, and there was no dial tone..I checked.
