This entire section of the house is built to a parthenon style design, with fascias displaying greek mythology mimicking the marbled panels below. It's all very 'look how cultured we are', but it's hard to argue against how great it looks. At the time, this was pretty out there in terms of fashion and upper-class rivalry would have gained the Eden's bragging rights at the time for sure.
