Norton Lodge
Then & Now 1907-2025 Norton Priory Lodge, Main Street Until the Brooke family vacated their home in 1922 there were a series of lodges situated on the corners of their estate. Almost all of which still exist today. Greens bridge, on the Bridgewater canal led directly to Halton Village as the family's private access to the village for local amenities. The gatehouse, or lodge, would've been in operation full time to ensure the likes of poachers and trespassers were not freely accessing the Norton Estate. The lodge is now part of an extended private residence however several of the pillars outside the property still also survive and the majority of the original boundary wall has been kept as part of the new properties garden boundaries as the village has expanded.
